Pour combattre la morosité ambiante de ce mois de janvier, rien de tels que ces deux lives rares de George Michael : des reprises magnifiques des standards "funk" et "groovy" de 1979,  "Ain't No Stopping us Now" de McFadden et Whitehead (Cover To Cover - USA) et "Good Times" de Chic (WhamAmerica Tour). Des chansons très positives, un excellent remède pour se sentir bien ! Excellent week-end à tous ! :)

Il existe malheureusement des pépites restées dans des tiroirs, des titres rares inédits de George Michael. Tout comme "You spin me round" (voir l'article ici), "Disco" interprété par George Michael en fait parti.

"Disco" de George Michael a probablement été enregistré pour figurer sur "Listen Without Préjudice Volume 2", qui n'a jamais été publié en raison de l'affaire judiciaire avec Sony en 1992-1993. Cette chanson a survécu parmi les vrais fans et collectionneurs de George Michael - Impossible de savoir si cette chanson était complètement terminée, mais en tous cas, une chose est sure, elle est fabuleuse.

En espérant qu'un jour elle puisse enfin sortir de façon officielle.

C'est à partir de 1991 (et jusqu'en 1993) que George Michael eut l'idée avec son cousin Andros de créer un album écrit et produit par George Michael lui-même, avec d'autres artistes de renom, comme Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Janet Jackson, Seal, ou bien encore Elton John avec qui il vient de chanter en duo "Don't Let The Sun (Go Down On me), le méga tube Live de 1991...

Cet album baptisé "The Trojan Souls" , très axé R&B, etait un très beau projet dont George a fourni un travail remarquable et acharné à écrire les textes et à enregistrer les pistes en studio. Mais les évenements personnels de la vie de George Michael en ce début des années 90, en particulier le procès retentissant avec Sony, ont eu raison de George, qui est finalement incapable de poursuivre le travail et le projet musical est tout simplement laissé à l'abandon.

"Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now" aurait du être le premier single issu de cet album "The Trojan Souls".
